Ο κατάλογος αφορά  αεροσκάφη Αμερικάνικης κατασκευής που απωλέσθηκαν στην Ελληνική επικράτεια και τα όρια της. Η ταξινόμηση της λίστας πραγματοποιήθηκε σύμφωνα με την πιθανή γεωγραφική θέση κατάρριψης όπως αυτή αναφέρεται στις λίστες του Joe Baugher.

Σε καμία περίπτωση δεν είναι πλήρης και κάθε νέα πληροφορία που θα προκύπτει θα προστίθεται σε αυτόν.

Οπωσδήποτε κάποια λάθη είναι αναπόφευκτα και ευελπιστούμε σε υποδείξεις και στοιχεία από τον αναγνώστη προκειμένου να εντοπιστούν και να διορθωθούν.

Dornier 24 – Κύθηρα

Στις 23 Δεκεμβρίου του 1943, αεροσκάφος τύπου Do 24 της 7ης Σωστικής Μοίρας Θαλάσσης ξεκίνησε από το Φάληρο για να παραλάβει τους τραυματίες πετρελαιοκίνητου καϊκιού το οποίο είχε δεχθεί επίθεση από βρετανικά Beaufighter στο Καψάλι Κυθήρων. Μετά από άσχημη προσγείωση το αεροσκάφος παθαίνει ζημιές και βυθίζεται στην νότια άκρη των Κυθήρων*. Ο απολογισμός είναι 2 νεκροί και τα υπόλοιπα 4 μέλη του πληρώματος βαριά τραυματισμένα.

*) Το πολεμικό ημερολόγιο της γερμανικής Ναυτικής Διοίκησης Κρήτης αναφέρει νότια Κύθηρα, ενώ το πολεμικό ημερολόγιο της γερμανικής  7ης Σωστικής Μοίρας Θαλάσσης αναφέρει το Καψάλι Κυθήρων.

Σύμφωνα με το πολεμικό ημερολόγιο της μοίρας το αεροσκάφος είχε τα πολεμικά διακριτικά DJ+ZM και τον αριθμό κατασκευής 0087. Τα ονόματα του πληρώματος ήταν: Πιλότος Ofw. Walter Steinig (τραυματίας), Ασυρματιστής Fw. Guenter Kommnik (τραυματίας), Α΄ Ιπτάμενος Μηχανικός Uffz. Alfred Westerkowsky (τραυματίας),  Παρατηρητής Ofw. Richard Marquardt (νεκρός),  Β΄ Ιπτάμενος Μηχανικός Uffz. Günther Kunde (νεκρός).

Ο κατάλογος αφορά σε αεροσκάφη που καταρρίφθηκαν από την  JG 77 στην Κρήτη τον Μάιο του 1941 κατά την προετοιμασία των Γερμανικών δυνάμεων εν όψη της επιχείρησης “Ερμής”.

Ο κατάλογος σε καμία περίπτωση δεν είναι πλήρης και κάθε νέα πληροφορία που θα προκύπτει θα προστίθεται σε αυτόν. Οπωσδήποτε κάποια λάθη είναι αναπόφευκτα και ευελπιστούμε σε υποδείξεις και στοιχεία από τον αναγνώστη προκειμένου να εντοπιστούν και να διορθωθούν.

Jagdgeschwader 77

Σχηματίστηκε τον Μαΐου του 1939 στο Trondheim της Πολωνίας, και αποτελείτο από το ΙΙ και III Gruppe (1940). Ο τύπος του αεροσκάφους που χρησιμοποιήθηκε στην διάρκεια του πολέμου ήταν το Bf-109, με εξαίρεση το ΙΙ Gruppe, που για ένα σύντομο χρονικό διάστημα επιχειρούσε με αεροσκάφος τύπου το Macchi C205. Συμμετείχε σε όλα τα μέτωπα, κατά τη διάρκεια του β ‘ Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου. Οι πιλότοι της JG 77 κατάφεραν 4,046 νίκες και αναδείχτηκαν 86 πιλότοι σαν “Ace”. Κορυφαίος ήταν ο Heinz Bär με 220 καταρρίψεις εκ των οποίων οι 88 πραγματοποιήθηκαν όταν υπηρετούσε στην JG 77 καθώς επίσης και ο Gollob Gordon, ο οποίος ήταν ο πρώτος πιλότος στον κόσμο που έφτασε τις 150 καταρρίψεις.

 

Ο άσος της καρδιάς “Herz Ass”, είναι το έμβλημα της JG 77 προς τιμή του Geschwaderkommodore Major Joachim Müncheberg που σκοτώθηκε στη Β. Αφρική στις 23 Μαρτίου 1943.

Ο πίνακας 17Β αφορά Γερμανούς πιλότους και καταρρίψεις αυτών σύμφωνα με το αρχείο kracker luftwaffe pilot archive. Πρέπει να διευκρινιστεί ότι σε όλους τους πίνακες – λίστες υπάρχουν συχνά λάθη ως προς τον τύπο του αεροσκάφους που καταρρίφθηκε. Αυτό οφείλεται σε μεγάλο βαθμό από τις αναφορές των πιλότων οι οποίοι ανάφεραν από λάθος διαφορετικό τύπου αεροσκάφους. Άλλες φορές τα αεροσκάφη αν και με μεγάλες ζημιές κατάφερναν να επιστρέψουν στη βάση τους. Για την Luftwaffe αυτά προσμετρούνταν σαν κατάρριψη. Η τοποθεσία των καταρρίψεων δίδεται κατά προσέγγιση με αναφορά το πιο κοντινό αεροδρόμιο, πόλη ή νησί.

Στον δεύτερο πίνακα (Update 11/01/1014) παρουσιάζονται τα στοιχειά όπως ακριβώς αναγράφονται στο kracker luftwaffe pilot archive.

In March 1945, he commanded Sonderkommando-Elbe, a Bf 109 unit whose purpose was to ram Allied bombers. Only about 24 successful attacks were recorded. About 370 combat missions, serving in Spain, Poland, Norway, France Malta and Greece, before founding the Wilde Sau Units. Sank 12 Soviet convoy ships, about 65,000BRT. Prior to his Luftwaffe service, he was in the HJ, DLV and NSFK. Identified in a photo album, numerous documents and his Flugbuch found online.

Scheiter managed to return to base on foot a few days later. A 2nd P-40 was downed 4 July, 1942 southeast of Emeisat N. Africa.
